Sara completed her MHA while preparing for and accomplishing
licensure as a long-term care administrator. Sara was chosen for this
outstanding student award because of how well she has done in the MHA program,
but also because she has been very active in long-term care professional
associations also. She has done a significant amount of work with the
Maine Chapter of the American College of Health Care Administrators. In
addition to Sara’s participation in industry associations, throughout her time
at SJC she has gone above and beyond expectations. At last year’s NAB
accreditation site visit, Sara took the time to be a student representative in
the process and met with the accreditors by Polycom. Sara started the MHA
program in 2007 and her GPA was 3.75.
Sara noted, "My Mom always instilled in me "knowledge is power and no one can
take that away from you" I'm so happy that I decided to attend St.
Joseph's College, I've met some of the best people while attending this
college."
